The sixteen competing teams are divided in four groups of four teams: Group A, Group B, Group C & Group D.
The top two teams from each group progress to the quarterfinals, which begin on 21 January.
The semifinal matches are held on 25 January.
The final is held at the showpiece Khalifa Stadium on January 29th, kick off 18.00.

The Asian Cup is the Asian Football Confederation's premier international tournament and is now held every four years.
The 2011 Asian Cup takes place in Qatar. The tournament will be held in 5 stadiums, 4 of them in Qatar's capital Doha:
the 50,000 capacity Khalifa International Stadium
the 25,000 capacity Al-Gharafa Stadium
the 19,000 capacity Qatar SC Stadium and
the 15,000 capacity Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium (Al-Sadd).
The other stadium to be used is the
Ar Rayyan Ahmed bin Ali Stadium which seats 25,000 spectators.
