A tough group includes hosts Poland, the Czech Republic, Russia and Euro 2004 winners Greece. Any two of the four teams could progress to the quarter finals in a very difficult to predict group.
Poland will be hoping their home advantage counts in their favor. Poland face Greece in the tournament's opening match in Warsaw while Russia and the Czech Republic meet in Wroclaw. Expect both these matches to be cagey, low-scoring affairs.

Group B is very much the Group of Death with World Cup 2010 finalists Holland, Euro 1992 winners Denmark (who on paper appear the weakest of the four teams), three time winners Germany and a strong Portugal side which includes Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani of Manchester United. The Netherlands face Denmark in the opening group game in Kharkiv while Germany take on Portugal in Lviv.

Group C would appear set for World Cup 2010 and Euro 2008 winners Spain to qualify along with an improving Italy ahead of the Republic of Ireland and Croatia, who both had to come through play-offs to make the finals.
Spain kick off the group with a match against Italy in Gdansk while the Republic of Ireland face Croatia in Poznan. A defeat in the opening Ireland v Croatia game would appear to signal the end of the road for the losing team.

Group D is another tough group with hosts Ukraine matched with England, Sweden, and Euro 2000 winners France.
The opening England v France game in Donetsk will be vital for both teams with Ukraine hoping to get off to a winning start in Kyiv in front of their own fans against Sweden.
