From Europe
Ukraine is most easily reached by air from the rest of Europe. Aerosvit and Ukraine International Airlines are Ukraine's major international carriers. Code-sharing with other European Airlines is common.
Austrian Airlines flies to Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk, Kiev, Lviv and Kharkiv from Vienna. Journey time is around 2 hours. Air France, British Airways (Heathrow to Kiev's main Boryspil Airport), KLM, Lufthansa (from Munich) all have regular flights.
Czech Airlines flies daily to Kiev Zhulany. Romania's Carpatair has flights from Italy and Germany to Lviv and Chernivtsi in the Ukraine. LOT Polish Airlines connects to Kiev and Lviv. Turkish Airlines operates flights from Istanbul to Kiev, Odessa and Simferopol. Malev Hungarian Airlines has flights to Odessa via Budapest. Aeroflot connects to several cities in the Ukraine from Moscow and St Petersburg.
Budget airlines such as EasyJet and Ryanair fly close to Ukraine to such countries as Hungary and Poland from where it is possible to travel onwards by road or rail.
Boryspil Airport (KPB) is located 40km east of Kiev's city center. Bus is the least expensive means of getting into town. Taxis may try to raise the fare for first-time visitors. Buses take around one hour and ply between Kiev's main railway station, the Kharkivska metro station and Boryspil. Marshrutkas (mini buses) also make the same journey.
The Boryspil Airport Hotel is right at the airport for stopovers.
Zhulany Airport (IEV) is only 8km from the center of Kiev and connected by taxi, marshrutka #568 or trolleybus #9.
From North America
Delta has direct flights to Boryspil from JFK, New York and Aerosvit flies to JFK and Toronto in Canada.
Rest of the World
Aerosvit has flights to Beijing, Bangkok, Dubai and Delhi. El Al has flights from Tel Aviv to Kiev.
