Shimizu v Cerezo Osaka Shimizu is in second place, with just five more goals scored than yielded. Contrast that with Cerezo: although the Osaka squad has scored one more goal than yielded it is way down in 12th place. Shimizu is good in the crunch, and will crunch the visitors from Osaka.
Gamba Osaka v Sendai Who would have imagined? Gamba lags in the relegation zone second from last, while Sendai in first place. We sense an upset in Osaka...
Urawa v Niigata Urawa is finding its legs, Niigata lagging. Big win at home in Saitama for Urawa.
Urawa: A win
Kawasaki - Gamba It's hard to call a late August match a "must win," but this one comes close for Kawasaki. If they win, it could set them on the path to much larger things. A draw or win for Kawasaki.
Kofu - Kawasaki Even away, even without Ganaha out on suspension, Kawasaki will win.
Niigata - Gamba Osaka Gamba was lucky to get a draw last weekend. Away at Niigata, Gamba will lose.
Urawa Reds - Jubilo Iwata Urawa is struggling but still way too strong at home for Jubilo. A win.
Yokohama FC - Nagoya Grampus Will the deep pockets of Toyota bring a championship to Nagoya? Off to a great start, Nagoya will win on the road against hapless Yokohama side.
Kyoto - Iwata At home against a once great side. Three matches left in the season. Last place Kyoto has to win to have any chance of avoiding relegation. They won't. A win for Jubilo, though Kyoto will outshoot and have most of ball possession.
Urawa - Chiba Must win match for both teams. Urawa too good at home.
C-Osaka - Kashima A shocker: at home Cerezo to tie or win.
Yokohama - Gamba The match of the week. In Yokohama, will Gamba have the mettle to win? Gamba squeaked out a win at home last week; Yokohama got squeaked by Omiya away. Gamba to win.
Kyoto - Kawasaki The first J1 home match for Kyoto in three years. They will lose to a strong Kawasaki side.
Gamba - JEF Even at home, Gamba to lose. Without Araujo and Masashi Oguro still questionable--and a JEF that must win--it will be a long day for Gamba.
Reds - Jubilo In front of their faithful, the Reds will get 3 points.
Marinos - Cerezo Cerezo has to win. A very tough call. A draw.
Oita - Kashima A draw for struggling Kashima.
Cerezo - Frontale With Kawasaki forward Marcus out of the match on suspension, a big win at home for Cerezo--even with its own bevy of players out to suspension.
Kyoto Purple Sanga - Hollyhock An easy win for Kyoto at home, and the champagne corks will fly.
JEF - Marinos Yokohama to continue its slide with a loss to JEF.
S-Pulse - Gamba Even without Sidiclei and Yasuhito Endo--both out on suspension--Gamba to win easily, picking up three key points.
