World Cup Football - Match Venues - Kobe Stadium
The new waterfront Misaki "Wing" Stadium opened in November 2001 after two years of construction work and will have a capacity of 42,000 for the World Cup finals. The impressive football-specific venue has great views from the well-tiered seats, carpet-like turf and is part of the city's regeneration project after the 1995 earthquake. The stadium is home to the J.League's Vissel Kobe soccer team.
