Want to be a World Cup 2002 Volunteer?
The Korean and Japan World Cup Organizing Committees will be recruiting
over 12,000 volunteers respectively to assist spectators, VIP guests
and the media during the 2002 World Cup. People interested in volunteering
can register from 15th April - 16th June 2001 online at www.fifaworldcup.com
or through local government offices of the 10 host cities and FIFA World
Cup Official Shops in the host countries. Participants must be over 18
years old on April 1st, 2002, be able to work for all match days
of the venue where they are registered and communicate and read simple
Japanese or Korean.
Transportation fees will not be provided, though lunch boxes and uniforms
will be supplied while working. All volunteers will be insured against
accidents (no personal expense is required).
Ticket for the matches will not be supplied and volunteers will not
be able to watch the games during volunteer activities, however. The
first training session is scheduled for August this year.
