Cosmic Football - Alex McLeish
Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish is the subject of Cosmic
Football's astrological profile this month.
Alex McLeish is an individual that knows exactly what he wants
from people around him and this shows clearly in his astrological
chart. He has six planets in six signs and this kind of chart arrangement
is common with people who want to have total control of things around
them. He also has four planets in Earth signs, indicative of someone
with strong and rigid views on how they want to operate. Whether
McLeish's hunger for power and determination to lead will
be a good or bad thing for Birmingham City, only time will tell.
One thing is for sure, McLeish is a powerful and determined man
that commands respect.
McLeish has a lot of Aquarius in his chart. Aquarians have a very
clear view on how they are going to achieve success, so McLeish,
for example, will know exactly which players he will want to buy
over the summer. He will also be clear on which formation he will
play to get the best out of his players this season. Birmingham
have been earlier spenders in the transfer market signing Roger
Johnson from Cardiff and Christian Benitez from Mexican club Santos
Laguna. No doubt the first of many signings at St Andrews this summer.
While McLeish may think he knows what's best for the Blues
in the transfer market, Neptune squaring Jupiter in his chart warns
of over spending and speculating on unknown quantities. One must
hope for his sake that Benitez doesn't prove to be a costly
mistake. He is after all, Birmingham City's record signing.
His chart would suggest he would be better to focus his efforts
in attracting well-known players to the club.
McLeish has just two cardinal signs in his chart, which would
suggest he might lack fire and inspiration in the eyes of others.
This is clearly a manager who relies on fielding the right team,
rather than delivering awe inspiring pre-match speeches to get the
best out of his players. That's not to say he isn't
a bit of a character though. I get the sense from his chart that
he might do certain things a little unconventionally. I can picture
the Birmingham players maybe being instructed to take part in bizarre
training exercises. It would be interesting to find out if that
is the case.
Players that are looking for warmth from their manager are unlikely
to find it from McLeish. With all the earth signs present in his
chart, I think he is probably quite a cold character. He's
far more likely to give a player a bollocking rather than put his
arm around the individual that's for sure. I get a strong
feeling though that this approach does get respect from his players.
McLeish is a 'players manager', despite his coldness.
What will get the players respect is determination to succeed.
McLeish has this in abundance and will push his players very hard.
The results will follow I think and for this reason I am tipping
McLeish to keep Birmingham in the Premier
League this season.
Saturn will be sextile Jupiter in McLeish's chart in the
first six months of 2010 – this represents a spell of doing
well professionally. Birmingham should end the season well in particularly
and this will keep them safe. A consistent trait in McLeish's
chart appears to be the Scot's ability to go through life
achieving things, if not always in the most spectacular manner.
Of course it won't be an easy ride in the Premier League
for new boys Birmingham or their manager. Six planets in McLeish's
chart pass through Saturn during 2009-2010, which will present great
challenges. With Pluto conjunct Saturn, McLeish will be exposed
to great levels of stress and must manage this for the good of his
health. With Saturn conjunct Jupiter, he will also need to work
twice as hard as he ever has done before to get things to go the
way he wants.
But we have a man that is destined for success here and he will
take Birmingham in a good direction. He has a fair amount of Mercury
in his chart which means he an individual that thinks things through
well and puts plans into good practice. Uranus shining Jupiter,
which is present in McLeish's chart, also means he is pound
for good luck and unexpected fortune in the next twelve months,
adding to the feeling he will do well.
