According to my notes, there are plenty of reasons why all of the remaining artists on the X factor shouldn’t win, but unfortunately, one will.

Using the process of elimination, we can remove the deadwood and be in a position to make a tidy profit. Voices with soul are the next band to go, the public are not voting for them, and there is no reason why that trend should change. G4 will be following the girls out of the competition, they’ve already murdered Radiohead and Oasis, and next week's cover of what a waster by the Libertines will lead to their demise. Mad Rowetta will fail to make the final three; the novelty value of a total head-the-ball will be wearing a little thin by this stage. Steve will be the next to go, the lad’s probably the better singer of the three remaining wannabes; but he has a slap-me face, and the public will vote for the kids, as they always do.

So the final face off will be between Lassie and Tabby. Tabby will run around the stage with his guitar looking cool, while Lassie will stand still and shout a lot. The winner will be decided by who the viewers find more attractive. (Michelle McManus is the exception that proves the rule.) As the vote could go either way, my advise would be to back Tabby at 9/4 with Paddy Power, and Lassie at 9/1 with VC Bet, guaranteeing yourself a nailed on 6/4 shot. (For every three points on Tabby, a point on Lassie.) Or to make life a little easier, take the 11/8 with VC Bet on the winner coming from the 16-24s. (Sporting Odds go 10/11.)

Lassie: Can’t dance, can’t sing.

G4: 7/1 Sporting Odds
Lassie: 9/1 VC Bet
Voices with Soul: 40/1 VC Bet

The bookmakers (correctly) make Voices with Soul odds on to be evicted this weekend, but the value bet is definitely G4 at 8/1. If the two remaining groups go head to head in the eviction sing-off, there’s every chance Simon Cowell’s vote will play, and it’ll be G4 no more.
