AC Milan v Liverpool: UEFA Champions League Final, 23 May 2007, Athens, Greece

Liverpool lost the 2007 Champions League final on Wednesday night to AC Milan… 2-1. The following six factors help explain Liverpool’s failure to win a sixth European Cup in Athens.

1. Pennant runs… into trouble… always
2. Harry Kewell is a beaut
3. Bolo Zenden – a great pro he maybe, a great player he isn’t
4. Agger is crapper than Kaka
5. Bellamy – he thinks he’s brilliant but Rafa didn’t deem him worthy to play even a single minute on the night, which says it all
6. Centre forwards: you don’t win two European cups in three years without at least one who’s any good

Therefore, the legendary Mr Benitez, I implore you, to help ensure we avoid a repeat of such a failure next season, please arrange for the following players to be removed from the list of Liverpool employees:

Gonzalez
Paletta
Garcia
Cisse
Le Tallec

Then, please also make full use of the financial backing of our new American owners to acquire the services of half a dozen quality footballers: two defenders, two wide players and two forwards.
