In the August World Fifa Rankings of 2013, Euro 2012 and 2010 World Cup winners Spain remain at the top of the rankings for yet another month, despite losing to Brazil in the final of the Confederations Cup.

So, below Spain are Germany, Colombia, Argentina, Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Confederations Cup winners Brazil and a resurgent Belgium side.

England rise one place to 14th.

Copa America winners Uruguay are 12th after a reasonable showing in Brazil.

Ivory Coast are the top African team in 18th.

Japan Asian Cup winners are in 37th a drop after losing all three of their Confederations Cup games, though they were the first team to qualify for World Cup 2014 in Brazil.

South Korea have also qualified for Brazil too and are in 56th place. Both Japan and South Korea are among the top ranked teams in Asia together with Australia, who have also qualified for World Cup 2014, and are 46th.

The USA are in 19th place, up from last month. Scotland are in 50th position.

The Republic of Ireland are in 44th place, Wales are in 46th, Northern Ireland are 109th.
