Scotland won for the first time in a year with victory in Iceland. Goals from defenders Christian Dailly and Everton's Gary Naysmith were enough to secure coach Bertie Vogt's first competitive win.
Tomas Razanauskas and Robertas Poskus scored as Lithuania overcame the Faroe Islands.

World Cup finalists Germany struggled to beat the Faroe Islands. A second half goal from Miroslav Klose proved the winner. Earlier Michael Ballack's penalty had been cancelled out by an Arne Friedrich own goal.
Deividas Cesnauskis' sending off proved decisive as Iceland took advantage with goals from Heidar Helguson and two from Chelsea's Eidur Gudjohnsen.

Scotland top the group thanks to defender Lee Wilkie's winner after Chelsea's Eidur Gudjohnsen had equalized Kenny Miller's opener.
Germany were held to a controversial draw by Lithuania in Nuremburg after they had a goal wrongly disallowed. Carsten Ramelow put the Germans ahead only for Tomas Razanauskas to square the match with a great individual effort.

A disputed Tomas Razanauskas' penalty in the 73rd-minute meant Latvia joined Scotland and Germany on seven points.

Scotland forced a creditable draw at home against a below-par Germany as Kenny Miller cancelled out a first half strike from Fredi Bobic.
With all the goals coming in the second half, a last-gasp Tryggvi Gudmundsson goal kept Iceland's hopes alive after a Rogvi Jacobsen header cancelled out Helgi Sigurdsson's opener for the home side.

Germany scored two late, late goals from Miroslav Klose and Fredi Bobic to snatch the points from a poor performance.
Second half goals from Thordur Gudjonsson, Eidur Gudjohnsen and Hermann Hreidarsson put Iceland back in to contention in the group.
