Spain outclassed Northern Ireland with two goals from Ruben Baraja and one from Jose Maria Guti.
Two Andriys - Vorobei and Voronin - got the goals for the Ukraine as Greece failed to travel well yet again.

Two goals - one in each half - from Demis Nikolaidis saw Greece pick up their first points in group 6 with the win over Armenia.

Artur Petrosyan's late goal doomed N. Ireland to defeat in Yerevan.
Olexander Gorshkov's injury-time goal earned Ukraine a 2-2 draw with Spain in Kiev. Ukraine went ahead through Andriy Voronin, before Raul and Joseba Etxeberria looked to have given Spain the points.

Angelos Charisteas scored in each half to give Greece victory in Belfast. N. Ireland had both James Quinn and Keith Gillespie sent off.
Spain recovered from a dismal first half to move four points clear in the group with second period goals from Diego Tristan, Ivan Helguera and Joaquin.

A first half strike from Stelios Giannakopoulos caused the upset of the round as Greece inflicted Spain's first competitive home defeat since 1991 and threw the group wide open.
A seven-goal thriller in Lviv, with Ukraine twice coming from behind to edge Armenia with an injury-time goal from Serhiy Fyodorov. Albert Sargsian twice gave the visitors the lead before two goals from AC Milan's Andriy Shevchenko put the Ukrainians back in front. Artur Petrosian levelled things again after 73 minutes before Fyodorov scored the winner.
