Finland beat Azerbaijan with goals from Mika Nurmela,
Hannu Tihinen and Liverpool's Sami Hyypia.
Italy, losing finalists to France in Euro 2000, were disapointingly
held to a 1-1 draw by Yugoslavia in Naples. Predrag Mijatovic
opened the scoring for the Yugoslavs but Alessandro Del Piero's
deflected free kick levelled things for the Italians.

A glorious night for Wales in Cardiff as they beat Italy
for only the second time in their history. Tottenham's Simon Davies
gave the home side the lead before Alessandro del Piero's deflected
free-kick levelled things.. Newcastle's Craig Bellamy scored the
Welsh winner as pressure mounts on Italy to qualify.
Darko Kovacevic and a Sinisa Mihajlovic penalty were enough for
Yugoslavia in a tight match against Finland, who had
Juha Reini sent off for the elbow late in the game which lead to
the penalty.
