Set in a large park with adjoining sports complex complete with
restaurants and a theatre, the ground is home to Borussia Dortmund
of the Bundesliga and famed for the passionate home support in the
South Stand (the largest standing area at a football stadium in
Europe). Originally built for the 1974 World Cup the ground hosted
the 2001 UEFA Cup final. Total costs for the stadium are estimated
at between 31-36 million Euros and included improvements to the
teams' changing rooms and barcode reader turnstiles.

Getting to Westfalenstadion
The stadium is the home ground of Borussia Dortmund and can be
reached on foot in about 40 minutes from the city center.
Train:
From central station to station DO-Westfalenhalle.
Underground:
From the central station (Hauptbahnhof) to Westfalenstadion station
on line U45 or U46 from the northeast of Dortmund or U42 to Theodor
Fliedner Heim.
