Grootkoppe is a private game farm based just outside Potchefstroom where the Spanish team will be based. Grootkoppe occupies 3.2km of river frontage for great fly fishing, it also has a hunting concession, satellite TV, generator and would be ideal for tour groups. The property would be fully catered & hosted for the World Cup. It is in close proximity to the cities of Johannesburg, Pretoria and Rustenburg.

Grootkoppe farm is located only 90 minutes from Johannesburg and within a two hour drive from Oliver Tambo International Airport.
The farm is situated in the midst of the Vredefort Dome, between the Vaal River and the rocky heads formed by a meteorite that struck the earth almost 2,000 million years ago.

Vredefort Dome is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is the oldest and largest meteorite impact site in the world. Animals that range the bushveld and grasslands of the farm vary from porcupines to white rhino.

Grootkoppe enjoys private access to 3.2km of the Vaal River, the largest tributary of the Orange River in South Africa. Grootkoppe means "big heads," and refers to the rocky hills formed as a result of the meteorite impact.

Wildlife inhabiting the farm includes most antelope species, giraffe, rhino and warthog. The rhino are kept in a separate camp secured behind an electric fence. The absence of the remaining Big Five animals allows visitors to Grootkoppe to explore the area on horse back, mountain bike or foot. The farm is also a bird watchers' paradise.

Grootkoppe can comfortably accommodate large groups - up to 20 people at a time in comfortable and pleasant surroundings. Meals can be taken in a variety of locations on the farm. Lunches by the river and dinners in the trophy room are both favorites of our visitors to the farm.
