South Africa Travel + Tourism Guide: Lost City, Sun City
Lost City, Sun City
Lost City is the Disney-inspired showpiece of Sun City - the vast
entertainment and casino center built in the Apartheid era in the
now defunct bantustan of Bophuthatswana by South African entrepreneur
Sol Kerzer. Self-styled as the "Africa's Kingdom of Pleasure"
Sun City is set in an awe-inspiring location and is a lot of fun
to visit.
Sun City is close to the Pilanesberg National Park and the
city of Rustenburg as well as the Royal
Bafokeng Stadium.
Lost City is great for families with children and has a host of
excellent attractions. Among these are the Valley of the Waves
with water slides beaches and artificial waves which can be surfed.
Lost City also has a rain forest with walkable paths, waterfalls
and streams.
Lost City's Entertainment Centre is the main casino and
slots palace with good restaurants and bars, a nightclub and an
alcohol-free nightclub for teens.
The Cabanas area has water sports at Waterworld and
a play area for children: horse-riding, a small zoo, an aviary and
a crocodile feeding time.

Sun City is an environmentally friendly resort and has won awards
for its sustainable and responsible environmental practices.
