*Spain
Spain goes into South Africa as one of the favorites. They won
Euro 2008, went 10 - 0 in the World Cup qualifiers, and have perhaps
the most exciting attack in the world. Still, Spain has never won
the World Cup - and until Euro 2008 had a history of choking. La
Roja's best players are a dream team that includes: Xavi, Fernando
Torres, David Villa, Andres Iniesta, Ilker Casillas and David Silva.
World Soccer Magazine descibed the team as "Boringly
Brilliant" as they rack up yet another win, yet another great
performance. Spain's loss to the USA at the Confederations Cup was
their first loss after a run of 36 games undefeated - a joint record.

Switzerland
The Swiss have a decent attack and won six times in their 10 qualifying
matches. They will depend heavily on Bayer Leverkusen attacking
midfielder Tranquillo Barnetta with help from veteran strikers Blaise
Nkufo and Alex Frei. At the back Arsenal reserve Philippe Senderos
and Reto Ziegler are both talented players but both very young and
inexperienced at this level. That being said at World Cup 2006 the
Nati went through the whole group stage without conceding a goal.

Honduras
Honduras squeezed into third place and automatic qualification
from the CONCACAF zone thanks to a better goal difference than the
unlucky Costa Ricans. Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios and the
Wigan pair of Hendry Thomas and Maynor Figueroa offer vital top-flight
experience along with record goalscorer Carlos Pavon and Inter's
David Suazo. It would take a minor miracle, however, if Los Catrachos
were to escape the group.

Chile
Coached by Argentine Marcelo Bielsa, Chile is back at the World
Cup for the first time in 12 years.
Bielsa has put his faith in a young and attacking squad which scored
32 times, one less than Brazil, in qualifying. The problem is at
the other end where La Roja conceded 22 goals - the most of the
five South American teams in South Africa. Sporting Lisbon's Matias
Fernandez and Alexis Sanchez of Udinese are two players to look
out for.
