South Africa has three main international airports in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

Carriers From Europe

The international flag-carrier is South African Airways (Tel: +27 11 978 5313/0861 359722), which is also the dominant player in the domestic flight market. South African Airways has non-stop flights to London from both JoBurg and Cape Town and flies to numerous European cities often with a change of airline at one of the major European hubs (Heathrow, Paris or Frankfurt). SAA connects indirectly to Berlin, Geneva, Hamburg, Innsbruck, Vienna, Zurich and many other destinations in western Europe.

Other international carriers from Europe and the Middle East include Air France, British Airways , KLM, Lufthansa, and Virgin Atlantic.

From Asia & Oceania

Cathay Pacific, Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines and Quantas have flights to South Africa from Asia & Oceania. There are direct flights to joBurg from Perth and Sydney. New Zealanders would need to fly via Sydney.

From North & South America

South African Airways flies daily to Washington non-stop and one-stop from Johannesburg via Dakar (Senegal) to New York. From Canada flights go via London and Amsterdam with British Airways and Northwest/KLM.
