South African Tourist Offices

Bloemfontein

The Information Center (Tel: 051 405 8489; 8am-4.15pm Mon-Fri; 8am-noon Sat) is at 60 Park Road.
There is also a tourist center on Park Road near the bus station.

Cape Town

Visitor Information Centres (VICs) at the City Center branch at City Bowl (Tel: 021 487 6800) at the corner of Castle Street and Burg Street and on the Waterfront at the Clock Tower Center (Tel: 021 405 4500).

Durban

There are tourist information facilities at Tourist Junction (Tel: 031 304 4934) housed in the former 19th century train station, near the city's main bus station, at the arrivals hall of Durban Airport (Tel: 031 408 1000) and at Ushaka Marine World (Tel: 031 337 8099).

Johannesburg

Gauteng Tourist Authority (Tel: 011 639 1600; 8am-5pm Mon-Fri) at 1 Central Place is in the Newtown Cultural Project. South Africa Tourism at 90 Protea Road in Sandton (Tel: 011 895 3000; 8am-5pm Mon-Fri) has general South Africa tourist information.

Kimberley

Diamantveld Visitor Centre (Tel: 053 832 7298) 121 Bultfontein Road.
Northern Cape Tourism Authority (Tel: 053 832 2656)

Nelspruit

The Lowveld Tourism Center (Tel: 013 755 1988) is in the Nelspruit Crossing Mall on Louis Trichard Street.
The Mozambique Consulate (Tel: 013 752 7396) is on Bell Street and does same-day visas.

Polokwane

Limpopo Tourism & Parks Board (Tel: 015 290 7300) Mandela and Church Street junction.

Port Elizabeth

Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism (Tel: 041 585 8884; 8am-4.30pm Mon-Fri; 9.30am-3.30pm Sat & Sun) is housed in an historic lighthouse at Donkin Reserve overlooking the city.

Pretoria

The Tourist Information Center (Tel: 012 358 1430) is in the Old Nederlandsche Bank Bldg. Church Square.
The HQ of the South African National Parks (Tel: 012 428 9111) is at 643 Leyds Street, New Muckleneuk.

Rustenburg

The Rustenburg Tourist Information Center (Tel: 014 597 0904) is on Main Road (7.30am-5pm; Mon-Fri; 8am-1pm Sat).

Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch Tourism is at 36 Market Street (Tel: 021 883 3584) and can provide walking-tour maps and information on the wine estates. Brochures in English, French and German.
