Citizens of European Union (EU) member states do not require visas to enter Ukraine and can stay up to 90 days.
Citizens of other countries whose nationals do not require a visa include: Andorra, Canada, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, Japan, San Marino, Switzerland, Turkey, the USA, the Vatican and the majority of the former Soviet Union (except Turkmenistan & Tajikistan).
All citizens of other countries need to check with their nearest Ukrainian embassy or consulate in their country for full visa requirements. These countries include Australia & New Zealand.

Types of Visas
There are various types of visas available for Ukraine: business visas, tourist visas and private visas.
Private visas are designed for foreigners (aimed at members of the Ukrainian diaspora) visiting family and friends. Applicants need to state the name and address of the person they are visiting and where they intend to travel in the country.
Tourist visas require a letter of invitation from a Ukrainian national, tourist agency or hotel booking confirmation letter.
Business visas require a letter of invitation from a legal entity in Ukraine.
Transit visas valid for four days are available for trips from Russia to Europe and require proof that you are leaving Ukraine.
