The World Cup in Russia in 2018 will be the first time the tournament has been held in the country.
The tournament faces some problems in terms of travel infrastructure and security for fans but promises to be something different. Russia will, however, have to address its problems of football hooliganism and racism for the tournament to be a success.
Moscow and St. Petersburg will be the main attractions for traveling football fans with other venues under consideration in Sochi, Yekaterinburg. Kaliningrad, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar Yaroslavl, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Saransk, Samara and Volgograd.
In September 2012 Luzhniki Stadium and Spartak Stadium in Moscow where chosen as venues along with Sochi, Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Samara, Saransk, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don and Ekaterinburg.
Look forward to all the action from the qualifting rounds, full results and team profiles on the competing nations, player profiles and World Cup stats.
