Poland's currency is the Zloty (code: PLN; symbol zł), which is sub-divided into 100 groszy (code: gr). Zloty literally means "golden" and is pronounced zwo-ti.
The coins are 1gr, 2gr, 5gr, 10gr, 20gr and 50gr; 1zł, 2zł, 5zł . Notes are in denominations of 10zł, 20zł, 50zł, 100zł and 200zł.
The Zloty dates back to the Medieval period and underwent revaluation after hyper-inflation in the 1990s. Eventually Poland aspires to join the Euro.
