The United Nations Office (Palais des Nations) in Geneva, Switzerland was formerly the League of Nations building and was built between 1929 and 1938. The Armillary Sphere (Celestial Sphere) made in in gold-plated bronze was donated to the League of Nations in 1936 by the Woodrow Wilson Foundation. The Celestial Sphere is the work of American sculptor Paul Manship, the Italian artist Bruno Bearzi and other contributors.
