The Neuer Zollhof (New Zollhof) is a striking architectural ensemble located in the Media Harbor (Medienhafen) district of Düsseldorf, Germany. Designed by the renowned architect Frank Gehry, it is one of the most distinctive landmarks in the city.
Completed in 1998, the complex consists of three buildings, each with its own unique design characterized by curving, sail-like forms and a combination of stainless steel and red brick. The buildings appear fluid and dynamic, with no two facades alike, reflecting Gehry's signature style of deconstructivist architecture.
The Neuer Zollhof complex serves primarily as office space, housing various businesses and organizations. Its unconventional design has garnered international acclaim and has become a symbol of the revitalization of the Media Harbor area, transforming it from an industrial port into a vibrant hub for media, technology, and creative industries.
