Holiday for Beckham
David Beckham is to be rested for a week by Manchester Utd's supremo Alex Ferguson.
The Beckham family has been shocked by revelations in the British News of
the World newspaper of the kidnap plot against the former Spice Girl and
her two children.

Trap to Remain
The Italian Football Federation confirmed that they will stick with Italian national
team coach Giovanni Trapattoni until his contract expires in June of 2004.
Sven to Remain
No change here either as England boss Eriksson confirmed his intention to see
out his contract despite the resignation of FA chief Alan Crozier and Steve
McClaren.
Cardozo Breaks Record
Toluca FC's Paraguayan striker Jose Cardozo broke the scoring record in the Mexican
League since it was revamped in the mid-nineties: 25 goals in 16 matches.
Vieri Attacks Opponent
There are reports that Internazionale di Milano's striker, Christian Vieri, stamped
on one of Como's players during Inter's 2-0 win.
Rome Stadium Row
SS Lazio and AS Roma have put in a bid to buy, for 200m euros, the 80,000 seat
Olympic Stadium they currently share. Before the Italian Olympic Committee
has had chance to reply however, both clubs are threatening to build their
own stadium elsewhere in the city.
Reid for Owls?
Is Peter Reid going to take a geographical step toward taking his rightful place
as boss of Everton FC by taking the Sheffield Wednesday managerial position?
Terry Yorath has had to step down as Owls boss due to their recent poor
form and Reid is in pole position to take over.
