Korea Prospects November 14th 2000The possibility that North Korea might still be admitted to the 2002 World Cup party after all was rekindled by FIFA President Sepp Blatter at a press conference in Tokyo today. Blatter stressed that the two Koreas, and not FIFA, should take the initiative on the issue, but that the recent rapprochement between the two former Cold War enemies could lead to some games being rescheduled in the North. "This is a matter for Korea. We will discuss the item in our executive committee on 10th and 11th of December in Rome. But the door is open." Any changes in the schedule would affect the games slated for South Korea and not Japan.
