The modern art sculpture Himmelstreppe by Herman Prigann stands on a former slag heap in Gelsenkirchen. It consists of large, old concrete blocks that are stacked in the shape of a staircase and is part of a sculpture forest, which continues north of the dump on the former colliery site.
