The Ernst Happel Stadium is the largest football stadium in Austria. It is where the Austrian national football team plays, but is rarely used at the club level.
Until 1992, the stadium was known as the Prater Stadium (Praterstadion). It was built between 1929 and 1931 for the second Workers' Olympiad, and designed by the German architect Otto Ernst Schweizer. It was renamed in 1992 for Ernst Happel, a great Austrian coach and player.
Seating is being added to bring the total to 53,008 for the Final of the 2008 European Football Championship. In addition, there will also be three group stage matches, two quarterfinals, and a semifinal match played here.

The stadium hosted Ajax's European Cup win over Milan in 1995. The stadium is located in the Prater Park, famous for its Big Wheel.

Designated wheelchair-accessible seating areas are located on a raised platform at pitch/ground level, meaning you do not need to navigate lifts or ramps to reach your spot. Following recent venue updates, the stadium includes tactile paving, clearer signage, and bilingual auditory announcements.
Hotels: If you wish to stay close to the stadium the Courtyard by Marriott Vienna Prater/Messe is very close by. It is located near Reed Messe Wien, Vienna's exhibition and convention centre. There's a restaurant, spa and fitness centre as well as WiFi in all rooms. The nearest subway station is Krieau, the stop before Stadion.
