FIFA World Rankings December 2025 (released 23 December)

Fifa's World Rankings for December 2025 were published on December 23, 2025 at FIFA HQ in Zurich in Switzerland.

There was no change in the top 20 teams since November. In the overall rankings the biggest climber was Vietnam up 3 places and the biggest drop was Malaysia down five.

Euro 2024 winners Spain thus remain top with World Cup winners Argentina second with France in third. England are again unchanged in fourth.

Next comes Brazil, Portugal, The Netherlands, Belgium, then Germany and Croatia in 10th. Euro 2020 winners Italy are 12th.

Morocco who reached the semifinals in Qatar 2022 are still the top African team in 11th place, with Senegal in 19th. Wales are 32nd. The USA are in 14th place.

Australia are in 26th place; Japan, who have already qualified for World Cup 2026 as have Australia, are in 18th position. South Korea are 22nd.

Scotland who have qualified for the World Cup for the first time since 1998 are 36th The Republic of Ireland are in 59th place, while Northern Ireland are unchanged in 69th. The lowest-ranked team is San Marino in 210th place with Eritrea unranked.
