Fifa's World Rankings for October 2025 were published on October 17, 2025 at FIFA HQ in Zurich in Switzerland.
There was significant change in the top 20 teams since September after World Cup qualification games and friendly internationals.
Euro 2024 winners Spain are still top with World Cup winners Argentina now second with France dropping down to third. England are unchanged in fourth.
Next comes Portugal, The Netherlands, then Brazil (who lost 3-2 to Japan in a friendly), Belgium, Euro 2020 winners Italy, then Germany in 10th.
Morocco who reached the semifinals in Qatar 2022 are still the top African team in 12th place, behind Croatia in 11th with Senegal in 18th (unchanged). Wales are 34th (down four). The USA are in 16th place (unchanged).
Australia are in 25th place (unchanged); Japan, who have already qualified for World Cup 2026 as have Australia, are in 19th position. South Korea are 22nd.
Scotland are 38th - up 5 places! The Republic of Ireland are in 62nd place, while Northern Ireland are in closing on their neighbors in 69th. The lowest-ranked team is San Marino in 210th place with Eritrea unranked.
