Founded in 1950, Burton Albion (nicknamed 'The Brewers') won the Conference in the 2008-2009 season and joined the Football League. The club won the League Two title in 2014-15 and gained promotion from League One in 2015-16. Burton spent two seasons in the Championship until they were relegated in 2018.
