Capacity & Design

The venue can now accommodate 25,736 spectators after the redesign completed in 2024. The major renovation transformed the ground from a relatively uninspired athletics venue with a running track into a modern, football-specific stadium that brings supporters much closer to the pitch.

The running track was completely removed, allowing the lower tier of seating to be reconstructed into a tighter, more rectangular shape. As a result, fans in the lower stands can sit as close as 7.5 to 8.5 metres from the field, creating a more intense, English-style football atmosphere.

The renovation also introduced a large canopy roof over the east (Sol) stand, made up of 43 independent tensioned PVC/polyester membranes, providing shelter while preserving panoramic views. The open design of the stands, particularly at the north end, also frames views of Mallorca's surrounding Tramuntana mountain range, integrating the stadium with its natural setting.

In addition, the redesign incorporated modern technology and hospitality features, including NFC digital ticketing and immersive spaces such as the Footprint Tunnel Experience, which provides 360-degree glass views of the players' exit tunnel.

Previous sponsorship names were Ono Estadi (2006-2010); Iberostar Estadi (2010-2017); Visit Mallorca Estadi (2020-2022).

RCD Mallorca

RCD Mallorca was founded in 1916. The club's nickname is "Los Piratas" (The Pirates) or "Los Bermellones" (The Vermilions).

The club experienced its most successful period during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Mallorca achieved its highest-ever La Liga finishes, placing third in both 1999 and 2001. In 2003, the club won the Copa del Rey after previously finishing as runners-up in the competition in 1991 and 1998, and again in 2024. Mallorca also claimed the Supercopa de España in 1998 and reached the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final in 1999, establishing one of the most successful eras in the club's history.

Players

Several notable players have made a significant impact at Mallorca throughout the club's history. Samuel Eto'o, the Cameroonian striker, played for the club from 2000 to 2004, becoming one of its most prolific La Liga scorers and helping Mallorca win the Copa del Rey.

Dani Güiza enjoyed a highly successful spell with the club, winning the Pichichi Trophy as La Liga's top scorer during the 2007-08 season after scoring 27 goals. Miguel Ángel Nadal, an experienced Spanish defender and uncle of tennis star Rafael Nadal, made hundreds of appearances for Mallorca across two separate periods.

Iván Campo also began to establish himself at Mallorca before earning a high-profile transfer to Real Madrid and representing Spain. In more recent years, Japanese playmaker Takefusa Kubo attracted significant attention during his loan spell at Mallorca from Real Madrid, while South Korean attacking midfielder Kang-in Lee became another prominent Asian player at the club before moving to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023.

Managers

RCD Mallorca has been managed by several highly regarded coaches.

Luis Aragonés had two spells as the club's manager, from 2000-2001 and 2003-2004, bringing extensive experience before later leading Spain to victory at Euro 2008.

Gregorio Manzano is regarded as one of Mallorca's most successful managers, overseeing the club during three different periods and famously guiding them to Copa del Rey success in 2003.

Héctor Cúper also played a major role in establishing Mallorca as a competitive force during the late 1990s, winning the Supercopa de España in 1998 and reaching the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final in 1999.

Michael Laudrup managed the club from 2010 to 2011, helping to maintain its position in La Liga, while experienced Mexican manager Javier Aguirre took charge in 2022 and successfully guided Mallorca away from relegation before leaving the club in 2024.

Accessibility

The venue features excellent wheelchair accessibility, thanks to the stadium-wide renovation completed in 2024.

The stadium provides 30 dedicated wheelchair spaces in adapted seating areas, each offering an unobstructed view of the pitch and positioned alongside fixed seats so companions can sit directly beside wheelchair users.

Access to the stadium is also designed to be step-free, with flat pathways, accessible turnstiles, and fully accessible entrances such as Gate 6. Modern elevators provide step-free access between different levels, hospitality areas, and the Mallorca Football Park facilities.

The renovated Sol and North stands have further improved accessibility through better ramp gradients, wider concourses, and lower customer-service desks.

In terms of transport, the stadium offers indoor parking beneath the stands as well as exterior parking spaces designated for people with reduced mobility. Public transport is also accessible, with Palma's EMT city buses and TIB intercity buses serving the stadium equipped with low-floor access and ramps for wheelchair users.
