Qualification bullies, tournament wimps England swept aside Switzerland in Basel with goals from Wayne Rooney, Adam Johnstone and Darren Bent. Stephan Lichtsteiner was sent off for Switzerland who replied through a bullet from Xherdan Shaqiri.
Bulgaria 0 v Montenegro 1
Improving Montenegro beat a poor Bulgaria in Sofia with a long distance goal from Elsad Zverotic. Bulgaria coach Stanimir Stoilov resigned after the game.
