Japan Stadiums: Fukuyama Transporting Rose Stadium, Hiroshima Prefecture
Fukuyama Transporting Rose Stadium (ふくやまつううんローズスタジアム) aka Fukuyama City Takegahana Athletic Park Stadium (福山市竹ヶ端運動公園陸上競技場) is a multi-purpose stadium in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture, western Japan.
It serves as a venue for Fukuyama City FC and as a general athletics stadium.
History & Capacity
The stadium has a full size natural grass soccer pitch with four pylon-style floodlights surrounded by an athletics track.
The main stand has seating for 3,781 spectators with the grass banks around the other sides accommodating a further 6,300 spectators.
Opened in 1978, the stadium is Fukuyama's main venue for athletics, hosting the annual Fukuyama Marathon and other track and field competitions. It is also used for football, staging matches in the Emperor's Cup and a number of Fukuyama City FC's fixtures in the Chugoku Soccer League. The venue has also hosted international football, including the women's competition at the 1994 Asian Games, as well as a 1994 J.League match between Sanfrecce Hiroshima and Gamba Osaka.
Adjacent is the Fukuyama Municipal Baseball Stadium.
Fukuyama City
Fukuyama City presently compete in the Chugoku Soccer League, part of the fifth tier of football in Japan.
Fukuyama SCC was founded in 2017 and quickly climbed the Japanese regional football pyramid, winning the Hiroshima Prefecture Eastern League Division 3 in 2017 and 2018 before reaching Division 2. Renamed Fukuyama City FC in 2019, the club won Division 1 unbeaten in 2020 and made its Emperor's Cup debut that year, reaching the quarter-finals before losing to Blaublitz Akita.
In 2021, they again won the prefectural title, including a remarkable 14–0 victory in the championship match, and secured promotion to the Chugoku Soccer League. They also reached the second round of the 2021 Emperor's Cup, beating Matsue City FC before losing to Shimizu S-Pulse. In 2022, Fukuyama City FC won the Chugoku Soccer League in their first season at regional league level, qualifying for the Regional Champions League. They finished second in their group but were eliminated from the competition.
The club were Chugoku Soccer League champions in 2026 narrowly edging Belugarosso Iwami for the top spot.
The winners of this regional division qualifify to enter the national Japanese Regional Champions League. There they will face the winners and top qualifiers from Japan's other regional leagues. Finishing in the top positions of the national promotion tournament secures promotion to level four (JFL) of the Japanese football pyramid.
The club also plays its fixtures at the smaller Evolvin Football Field near Fukuyama Port about 6 km to the north by car.

The closest station is Fukuyama Station served by the Sanyō Shinkansen, which connects Fukuyama with other cities in Japan including Okayama, Osaka, Kobe, Nagoya, Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Hakata.
From Fukuyama Station, take a Tomotetsu Bus. Buses bound for Tomonoura or Tomo Port stop at Fukuyama Commercial High School, from where the stadium is about a 10-minute walk. Alternatively, infrequent services toward Takegahata stop at Undō Kōen, just a one-minute walk from the venue.
