One U-21 Player to Watch from Each of the EPL’s Big Six Clubs

One U-21 Player to Watch from Each of the EPL's Big Six Clubs.

The Premier League has shown that they are far and beyond the most talented league from top to bottom across Europe. But, the big six clubs of England remain the focal point for talent across Great Britain.

Tottenham, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester United consistently place in the top half of the table, oftentimes finishing in positions one through six.

Here is one player from each of those clubs that sports news will be following for years to come.

Tottenham: Alfie Devine

Tottenham has very few youth players in their current squad and none that fit the bill as future Premier League stars. But their U-23 squad performed fairly well in the PL2 this season, with 17-year-old Alfie Devine making 17 appearances for the team.

In those 17 matches, the attacking midfielder scored nine goals and assisted three. His current Tottenham contract doesn't expire until 2024, and by then, it's likely that he's in the first team and showing that he can produce at the highest level.

Arsenal: Bukayo Saka

Arsenal made this selection both very easy and very difficult. They have three fantastic forward options that are all under 21 years of age, and the threesome is probably their three best players right now.

Gabriel Martinelli and Emile Smith-Rowe are amazing young wingers, and their creativity saved Arsenal's season after a horrid beginning. But it's Bukayo Saka that tops them all.

Saka, an experienced England first-teamer, has pace, ball control, and a knack for finishing that few have in all of England. He's only 20, and he's only going to get better. The other London clubs wish they had him, and the entire EPL is going to have to gameplan for him for the next decade.

Chelsea: Armando Broja

Though a current Southampton striker, Broja will have a real chance to get into the squad in the summer for the first time under Champions League-winning manager Thomas Tuchel.

The future of the Albanian National team performed well on loan in the Dutch league and has played alright in a very defensive-minded Saints squad.

If he can impress over the summer, amidst all the doubt between Chelsea and Lukaku, Chelsea and their attackers, and Chelsea and the UK Government, Broja could fill a Tammay Abraham-type role for the Blues.

Liverpool: Curtis Jones

Liverpool is very good, but their midfield is aging. Fabinho doesn't have too many years left, and Jordan Henderson and James Milner are most definitely at the end of their respective primes.

Rumors of Naby Keita's departure have sparked concern for the Reds, but Jones is here to patch that all up.

The youngster has played in plenty of first-team matches already as a backup option, learning from the best. He'll take what he's learned, with his attacking talent and young legs to inspire this midfield for a very long while.

Manchester City: Phil Foden

Choosing Foden could be categorized as cheating, but he's still 21 for another week or so. Foden is one of the best wingers in the world already, and I don't foresee City selling him anytime soon.

He's pacy, finishes the ball with beauty, and does exactly what Pep Guardiola tells him to do. Phil is every manager's dream, and he's the obvious fan favorite at the Etihad.

Foden's the next Aguero for this club. But he's going to be here longer, and he's going to be much better.

Manchester United: Anthony Elanga

An out-of-nowhere spark this season, Elanga not only made the first team but has been one of their most consistent performers in a team enthralled with unpredictability.

He strives to be the hardest working player on the pitch, both offensively and defensively, proving himself to the Red Devil faithful that he loves this club and will do everything it takes to get them back to the pinnacle of the soccer world.

Elanga will be a building block going forward as Manchester United look to the future as they rebuild following this very long stretch of poor form.
