Fairfax Park in Bridgwater, Somerset, England, is the home ground of Bridgwater United. The semi-professional club competes in the Western League Premier Division, the ninth and tenth levels of the English football league system. The league consists of 20 teams.
Capacity
The stadium has a capacity of 2,500, with two covered stands.
The playing surface is natural grass with floodlights.
Club History
The team are nicknamed "The Robins" (the same as not so distant Frome Town and indeed several other clubs in Britain - Altrincham FC, Bracknell Town, Bristol City, Cheltenham Town, Ilkeston FC and Swindon Town) and were founded in 1904. Club colors are red shirts and shorts.
There has been a club with the name Bridgwater including Bridgwater AFC becoming Bridgwater Town since 1898 but the name 'United' dates from 2021 when Yeovil United merged with men's club Bridgwater Town. Yeovil Town Women's team also merged with Bridgwater's women's team around the same time.
The club have competed in the Somerset County League, Weston & District League and Western League.
The Bridgwater club first made the first round of the FA Cup in the 1960-61 season going out in the second round and again in the following season.
Access - Getting There
The ground is about 15-20 minutes north of Bridgwater Station via College Way.
Bridgwater Station is on the Bristol to Taunton Line and has trains from Bristol Temple Meads Station in Bristol, Cardiff Central, Exeter, Newport, Plymouth, Taunton, Truro and Penzance.
The ticket office at the station is open Monday to Saturday from 6.30 am to 2.15 pm, closed on Sundays.
