Capacity, History & Design

Maimonides Park is built on the site of Steeplechase Park, a landmark Coney Island amusement park that shut down in 1964 amid increasing crime and the broader deterioration of the area.

Opened in 2001 as KeySpan Park, the stadium was part of a broader effort to revitalize the Coney Island neighborhood. With a present seating capacity of 7,000, it has become the permanent home of the Brooklyn Cyclones, who relocated from their temporary venue in Queens.

The stadium's debut marked the return of professional baseball to Brooklyn for the first time since the Brooklyn Dodgers played their final game at Ebbets Field in 1957 before relocating to California the following year.

Now known as Maimonides Park (following financial backing from Maimonides Medical Center), the venue was previously KeySpan Park and then MCU Park also for sponsorship reasons.

The New York Cosmos used the stadium during the 2017 NASL season. The Cosmos now play at Hinchliffe Stadium in New Jersey. Brooklyn FC have been in residence since the 2026 season with the women's team playing here since 2024.

Since 2003, the venue has also hosted various music concerts including gigs by Bjork and Snoop Dogg.
