World Cup 2022 Official Emblem
The official emblem and logo of the first winter men's World Cup was released on 20:22 local time on 03 September 2019. The day and month that Qatar gained independence from the United Kingdom.
The curves of the emblem represent Qatar's sweeping sand dunes and deserts and has aspects of Qatar's traditional national dress. Like previous emblems the shape is reminiscent of the World Cup trophy itself.
The emblem is also shaped as a number 8 which is the number of stadiums being used and which also symbolizes 'Infinity' as well as endless possibilities which is in keeping with the spirit of the World Cup.
The lettering is a new font based on Arabic calligraphy.
Like its 2018 predecessor, the logo was designed in Lisbon, Portugal by Brandia Central.
