Official Euro 2024 Mascot
Albärt is the official mascot of Euro 2024. The name of the cute teddy bear was chosen after a vote conducted among UEFA.com users and schoolchildren across Europe. Albärt polled 32% of the vote.
The mascot's purpose is to inspire young kids to get active and participate in sports.
Interestingly the teddy bear is thought to have originated in Germany in the early 20th century.
The first official mascot to appear at a European Championships was Pinocchio in Italy in 1980.
The cuddly Albärt made his bow before Germany faced Colombia in a friendly international in Gelsenkirchen in 2023.
