Japan Stadiums: AGF Suzuka Rikujo Kyogijo (AGF Suzuka Athletic Stadium), Mie Prefecture
AGF Suzuka Rikujo Kyogijo (鈴鹿市陸上競技; AGF Suzuka Athletic Stadium) is an all-purpose stadium in Suzuka, Mie Prefecture. It has staged soccer games by several teams in the area including Atletico Suzuka who also played games at Yokkaichi City Central Athletic Field (四日市市 中央陸上競技場) in Yokkaichi and at Suzuka Sports Garden in Suzuka.
History & Capacity
The AGF Suzuka Athletic Stadium is located within the larger Ishigakiike Park which also contains a baseball stadium.
The stadium dates from the mid-1970s. It has a capacity of 1,450 spectators, including fixed seats in the main stand. The facility is certified as a Class 3 track by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations and has a blue all-weather track.
Atletico Suzuka
The J.League's first MVP Kazu Miura played for Atletico Suzuka aged 58. He was on loan from Yokohama FC and usually appeared as a second half substitute with not much time left on the clock. Kazu is the world's third oldest active player to play and the oldest to score in a professional match. He began his career with Santos in Brazil in 1986 and has played in Japan (Verdy Kawasaki, Yokohama FC, Kyoto Sanga, Vissel Kobe), Italy (Genoa), Croatia (Dinamo Zagreb), Australia (Sydney) and Portugal (Oliveirense).
Kazu is Japan's second highest national team goalscorer after Kunishige Kamamoto. He was controversially dropped from the 1998 World Cup squad by manager Takeshi Okada despite being the leading scorer in qualification.
Atletico were relegated to the Tōkai Adult Soccer League for the 2026-27 season after losing a crucial promotion/relegation playoff 1-0 to Vonds Ichihara at home. This ended the club's seven-year stint in the fourth tier. Kazu will be playing for J3 Fukushima United next season (2026) his 41st season as a professional.
Access - Getting There
The athletics ground is a short walk from Tamagaki Station on the Ise Railway which runs between Kawarada Station in Yokkaichi and Tsu Station in Tsu.
There are also buses from Hiratcho Station on the Kintetsu Line which stop at the nearby Aoi bus stop.
