Facilities

The ground has pylon style floodlighting and a natural turf pitch. There is a covered stand, the Harold Hulme Stand, along one side of the pitch and covered dugouts. There is covered standing on the other side of the pitch and behind one goal.

The large bar/clubhouse outside the ground serves tea, alcoholic drinks and refreshments (burgers, chips etc) and can take card payments. On match days there is also usually a tea bar located in a blue shipping container.

Club

Nicknamed 'The Miners' Gedling Miners Welfare FC were formed back in 1919 as the works team of Gedling Colliery. In 2003, Gedling became part of the nationwide league system, and the team now competes in the United Counties League (UCL) Division One, which sits at the tenth tier of the English football pyramid.

Gedling has been playing its home matches at Plains Road since 1942. Prior to joining the UCL in 2021, the club competed in the East Midlands Counties Football League (EMCFL) Premier Division and in two divisions of the Central Midlands Football League (CML). Home colors are yellow and blue.

Access - Getting There

Plains Road would be a 90-minute walk northeast of Nottingham Station. By public transport take a Hucknall-bound tram from just outside the station. Ride 3 stops and then get off at Royal Centre and then take a 61 bus to Calverton and get off at the Tree Tops stop (20 minutes). The N73 bus runs to near the ground from Carlton railway station.

There are some parking spaces available if traveling by car.
