Capacity

The stadium was formerly known as Communications Park and has a capacity of 1,855 with covered seating for 255 only in small stands on either side of the impressive clubhouse.

Facilities

Long known to non-league football fans as Communications Park, the ground was renamed the Master Abrasives Stadium following a local sponsorship partnership. Daventry-based manufacturer Master Abrasives supports Daventry Town FC and its community initiatives, including food bank outreach.

There are floodlights (installed after the 2005 fire) and a natural turf playing surface. Surrounding the ground are several artificial surface 5-a-side pitches.

Club

Nicknamed 'The Town' Daventry Town was founded in 1886. In its early decades, it operated primarily as a local town club competing in the Northampton Town League.

A devastating clubhouse fire in 2005 threatened the very existence of the club. However, the local community rallied to rebuild it.

The club's finest hour on the pitch came during the 2013–2014 season when they made club history by reaching the First Round Proper of the FA Cup. They eventually lost 2-0 away to League Two side Chesterfield, cheered on by over 700 travelling fans.

After transitioning to a not-for-profit, supporter-led model in 2016 to clear structural debts, the club has stabilized. They currently compete in the United Counties League Premier Division South.

Access - Getting There

Daventry is 14 miles west of Northampton and about 10 miles southeast of Rugby.

The nearest railway station to Daventry is Long Buckby railway station, located about 4 miles (6.4 km) away. Regular services run toward Birmingham New Street, Northampton, and London Euston. For inter-city Avanti West Coast services, passengers usually change at Rugby.

Buses from Northampton to Daventry take about 35 minutes.

If coming by car from the M40 Junction 11 take the A361 towards Daventry, observing the 50 mph speed limit. After Charwelton, continue for about 3 miles and take the left-hand slip road signposted M1 North. Follow the ring road to the first roundabout and take the second exit into Browns Road. The club is at the far end of the road on the left.
