Selhurst Street in Nottingham is the home ground of Radford FC in United Counties League Division One. It should not be confused with Selhurst Park, home of Crystal Palace since 1924 in southeast London. The reformed Notts Olympic also use the ground in a ground-sharing agreement and other local teams such as Beeston Cosa Nostra have played here as well. For sponsorship reasons the ground is also known as the Oakfield Construction Arena.
Capacity
The stadium has a capacity of around 1,200.
Facilities
The ground has pylon style floodlighting and a natural turf pitch. There are covered stands behind one goal with both seating and standing areas. Behind the other goal is just hard standing.
The bar/clubhouse serves tea, alcoholic drinks and refreshments (burgers, chips etc) and can take card payments.
Club
Nicknamed 'The Pheasants' Radford FC were formed in 1964 as the works team of engineering firm Manlove and Alliotts. The Pheasants nickname comes from a local pub that used to sponsor the team. In 1975 they became Radford Olympic after the firm's move away from Nottingham to Scotland in 1970 and have the Olympic rings on the club crest as a result. In 1977 Radford became the first amateur side in Britain to sport advertising on their shirts and appeared on the BBC as a result. They took up residence at Selhurst Street for the 1981-82 season. Home colors are claret and blue.
Access - Getting There
Selhurst Street is a 45-minute walk north of Nottingham Station. By public transport take a Phoenix Park-bound tram from just outside the station. Ride 7 stops and then get off at Noel Street which is just a few minutes on foot from the ground.
There are 35 parking spaces available if traveling by car.
