The Welfare Ground in Pinxton, on the Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire border is the home ground of Pinxton FC in the United Counties League Division One which is Step 6 of non-league football in England.

For sponsorship reasons the ground is now known as the Roofsol Welfare Arena (or Roofsol Ltd Welfare Arena). Before that is was the Van Elle Arena.

Facilities

The ground has pylon style floodlighting and a natural turf pitch with a slight slope. The facilities include a single-gated entrance, a covered seating stand, a covered standing stand, dugouts, and a grass bank with decent views of the action.

The tea bar serves tea and refreshments (chips, pies etc) and can take card payments. The turnstiles are cash only. Nearby is the Pinxton Miners Welfare Social club - "The Welly" - that is often open before and after fixtures.

Club

Nicknamed 'The Miners' Pinxton FC were formed in 1994. The team won the Central Midlands League in 2023-24 season thus gaining promotion to the United Counties League. Before that the team competed in the Central Midlands League and Central Midlands League South.

Pinxton, the village, is in the Bolsover District of Derbyshire, situated on the western boundary of Nottinghamshire. Though it is in Derbyshire, it has a Nottinghamshire post town and postcode (NG16) because its mail is sorted in Nottinghamshire, which often leads to confusion.

Access - Getting There

Pinxton on the Notts/Derbyshire border is 8 miles south west of Mansfield, about 15 miles northwest of Nottingham and 18 miles northeast of Derby (on the A38).

Buses connecting Derby and Mansfield stop close to the ground (Wharf Road stop). From Derby the journey time is about an hour; from Mansfield just over 30 minutes. The bus name is 9.3 the nines operated by trentbarton.

From Nottingham the journey by public transport is not straightforward. Possibilities include taking a train to Mansfield and then the bus (about 90 minutes altogether).
