Busan's public bus system is cheap, extensive and easy to use and similar in organization to buses in Seoul.

Busan's buses are divided into 3 categories: local buses, cross-country buses, and airport buses. Local buses include: regular city buses, express city buses and night buses.

Fares

Fares can be paid in cash or by travel card - the Hanaro Transportation Card available from subway stations, bus stops and Pusan Bank.

Shuttle bus #2 connects Busan Airport with the beach resort of Haeundae. Bus #307 connects with Sports Park subway station on Line 3. The Airport Limousine Bus #1-2 connects with downtown hotels in Busan, Busan railway station and Nampo-dong bus station with departures every 20 minutes.

English signage is now more widespread, and bus destinations are displayed in English on the front of most buses. Tickets can be bought on board or a travel card purchased from kiosks.

Enter through the front door, pay in coins or swipe your travel card and exit through the rear door. Press the button when you wish to alight. Busan Station, the starting station for the KTX express trains to Seoul, is on many bus routes.

Bus stops are now electronic and display the ETA of buses on their displays in both Hangul and English.

The next stop is announced in both Korean and English, press a red button on the bus to alert the driver and alight.
